Par 71 / 6,100 metres. Also designed by a world-class golfer, the links course at the Lighthouse Resort is another championship course set on the shores of the Black Sea. Only a few minutes from the Black Sea Rama Resort and, like its neighbouring course, also situated directly on the Black Sea, golfers can expect a great deal of golfing pleasure from this course. The 2006 European Ryder Cup captain, Ian Woosnam is not only one of the most experienced golfers in Europe; he is also a world-renowned course designer. In collaboration with European Golf Design (EGD) he has turned this former agricultural land into a top golfing facility. The Lighthouse Golf Resort's cutting edge draining and irrigation systems allow the grass to grow in optimal conditions. The course is in top condition and it has already been the venue for some well-known golf tournaments. The course also has a state-of-the-art clubhouse with restaurant, bar, pro shop, and locker rooms, generous practice facilities.
Par 72 / 6,648 metres. Bulgaria's first championship golf course was designed by none other than the great Gary Player - in fact this was his first project in Europe! The Black Sea Rama course was opened in September 2008 and is fast gaining a reputation as one of the best golf courses in Europe. Critics who said during the construction phase that the area of land beside the Black Sea was uninteresting have been proved wrong. Numerous small and medium-sized hills surround each of the 18 holes of the course, providing great variety on the fairways, which also contain approximately 70 bunkers that make a round of golf here very demanding. On seven of the holes there are also marshy areas, which also make a game here more difficult. Overall the Black Sea Rama course is excellently maintained, but it also retains its rustic feel. The areas of rough burst into flower at various times of the year, with shades of violet and deep poppy reds. The large greens, not unfair, not too undulating.
The Thracian Cliffs golf course is located in the north of the country on the shores of the Black Sea, a mere ten minute drive from the Black Sea Rama Resort. Thracian Cliffs was designed by Gary Player and is sure to become one of the top ten golf courses in Europe. The Thracian Cliffs project began in 2006 and the first nine holes were completed towards the end of 2010. On 4th July 2011 the completed 18-hole course was officially opened by Gary Player himself, who described this course as the new Pebble Beach. The carefully positioned tees, greens, and fairways extend over approx. 4.5 kilometres of coastline and are a real challenge for the ambitious amateur golfer. The fairways are narrow, the greens are undulating, and the sea breeze constantly intervenes in the game. Thracian Cliffs promises plenty of golfing pleasure!
